In England, at least 5.5 million people live with undiagnosed high blood pressure (hypertension). Hypertension, if left untreated, can cause serious heart and circulatory diseases such as heart attack and stroke.

The only way to determine whether your blood pressure is high is to have it checked. Hypertension rarely has any symptoms.

You will be measured for your blood pressure in a private consultation room by a pharmacist. If the reading is high, they will probably recommend wearing an ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM). Using this device, your blood pressure can be measured at regular intervals over a 24 hour period, giving you a more detailed picture of your blood pressure.

For this FREE service, you do not need to make an appointment; simply stop by Manchester Pharmacy and Health Clinic and speak to a pharmacist.

Those not previously diagnosed with hypertension are eligible for this service. If you already have hypertension and would like more information, please speak to your pharmacist.
