The new NHS contraception service allows you to begin or renew your oral contraceptive pill prescription without needing to visit your GP.
Instead, you can schedule a consultation with one of our pharmacists. If approved, we will dispense your medication, making it faster and more convenient to get your contraception.
Book Appointment
Schedule a one-to-one appointment with our pharmacist if you have about a four-week supply or less remaining, or anytime if you wish to start contraception.
Have your Consultation
After your ten-to-fifteen-minute consultation, if everything checks up, we’ll process and administer your prescription for contraception.
We’ll let your GP know
We’ll get in contact with your GP and let them know how your consultation went.
Advantages of the
contraception service?

Are there any costs involved?

Am I eligible for the
contraception service?
You should not be older than 55 if you would like to begin using oral contraceptive. If your doctor or sexual health clinic has previously prescribed an oral contraceptive, you must be between the ages of 18 and 49 if you’re taking the combination pill and between the ages of 18 and 55 if you’re taking the progesterone-only pill.
To utilise our service, you do not need to be a patient of Manchester Pharmacy; anybody may schedule an appointment.
